I believe it takes a special kind of strength to ask for help, and as a therapist, my job is to make the process as smooth as possible. I feel confident in my ability to create a safe and welcoming environment conducive to change that will make therapy efficient and effective. I have been working in the mental health field for over ten years, and utilize a kind, strengths-based approach with my clients. I feel passionate about my work, and that passion translates into genuine connection with my clients.
I have worked with sexual assault survivors, adult survivors of childhood abuse, first responders, and survivors of other types of violent crime. Currently, I enjoy working with adults and couples, and addressing issues including depression, anxiety, phase of life issues, relationship issues, infidelity, bereavement and grief issues, and trauma.
I have my license in clinical social work, and have been working in the field for eleven years. I have experience in Community Mental Health, in a hospital Crisis Department, and five years of providing individual counseling services to victims of violence and trauma.

It’s uncomfortable to reach out for help, to reveal our pain and personal matters to anyone, let alone a stranger. This is why my priority is creating a safe, judgment free space to build a genuine connection with my clients. In addition to developing strategies to relieve immediate distress, I apply my 15 years in mental health, from home-based to hospital crisis work, to help you identify the reasons behind your struggles and resolve the underlying causes. This provides the framework for positive growth and a deeper understanding of oneself, for lasting results. I adapt my approach to meet your individual needs and therapeutic goals. You are the expert on your life and your experiences, and my role is to provide support, help you gain insight into any self-limiting beliefs, all while gently steering you in the right direction. Everything we need for growth is already inside us; it’s just a matter of finding it. I have thorough knowledge of anxiety, depression, and identifying/treating suicidal ideation, serving as clinical educator for a large crisis dept. My extensive training on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy provides a foundation for my work. I’d like to make the process of starting therapy as easy as possible and invite a conversation on how I might help you.

I believe that while pain is inevitable, suffering is not. Suffering is pain plus all the reactions, feelings, judgments, and ways of coping that add to the experience of pain. No one wants pain or suffering, but what if your methods for dealing with them haven’t worked—and may even have complicated matters? Welcome to the human race!—and to therapy where a professional perspective makes the difference. It’s ok if you want others to change; still, while you’re in therapy with me, the focus will be on you, on your getting your needs met, and on your suffering less. Working together nonjudgmentally, we’ll examine your habits and explore options for making changes. You’ll experiment with these changes, and we’ll evaluate the results. Can you see change happening? Is suffering reduced—and are you living a better life? Then our therapy is working. Less suffering—and more joy, compassion, and healthy acceptance and connection! Are you concerned about your fit with me? Call for a free 20-minute consultation before scheduling.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I’ve been working in the field of mental health for about 13 years where I’ve worked the entire lifespan focusing on depression, anxiety, PTSD and ADHD. I’ve worked with children, teens and families who have experienced trauma and violence, ranging from sexual molestation and assault to domestic violence, and other types of violent crimes. I also have a great deal of experience working with grief and bereavement, walking alongside families as they experienced loss and learn how to live in a new normal. I am also passionate about helping people heal from spiritual abuse and emotional trauma.
I enjoy working with any age group, including children, and want to welcome you into a safe space, free from judgement and full of hope…and likely some fun and laughs along the way.
